Veranda Solar
Capra J'Neva (US)
Veranda Solar products aim to bring solar electrical generation to a mass audience. The solar panels attach with simple tools to windowsills, balconies and gutters, so people with limited budgets or space can install them. Not only do the products attack basic assumptions about whom solar power is for, they also provide customers with an attractive, eye-catching statement of their dedication to the environment. Barriers to entering the home solar power market are lowered, as engineers, installers and electricians do not need to be involved in installing the system.
The company closed in fall of 2009. The financial crisis affected them too. The good news is that they, in 2013, received their patent for the scalable inverter that makes the extensible solar panel systems possible. Currently Veranda Solar tries to find a producer for their panels and power converter.
