Founder of ID&T and sustainable entrepreneur

Duncan Stutterheim is a Dutch serial entrepreneur who founded ID&T after dropping out of school. Today, ID&T is recognised as the world’s pioneering electronic music entertainment company. After selling his company back in 2013, his brain kept coming up with new ideas. So after a short sabbatical, he decided that all his subsequent ventures should have a sustainable component.

Duncan is one of the forces behind ADE Green, an international conference on sustainability, innovation and social change, initiated 5 years ago by ID&T and ADE. How can you make your festival green? How can you build the most sustainable main stage? How can you reuse all the urine and faeces at a festival? How can you reduce your environmental footprint through your food policy?

Recently he became co-owner of the Westergasfabriek, a city park with historical factory buildings that host cultural and recreational events. Here too, his focus is on making these historical buildings and their events as green as possible.

Last but not least, Duncan is part of a group of activist shareholders at Follow This, aimed at motivating oil giant Shell to take the lead in the transition to a net-zero-emission energy system.
