Plan: The GWEC is a generator that converts ocean wave energy into energy. The project started in 2010 by an extensive feasibility study at Delft University of Technology, faculty of Aerospace Engineering. A gyroscopic generator was designed to convert the two dimensional motion of ocean waves into electricity. GMT received a 100.000 euro subsidy of AgentschapNL in 2011 to conduct more research on the invention and the GWEC was optimized in design and was named Magnetic Wave Energy Converter (MWEC). Despite the unique design, the project was put on hold by GMT in 2012 due to high capital needs.
Arian (1989) studied Aerospace Engineering at Delft University of Technology. After being active on some small entrepreneurial projects, he founded GreenMotionTechnologies, which is set up for the research, development and commercialization of the GWEC.
