This is an in-car open technology platform for which various applications can be developed. Some could help reduce emissions by cutting miles travelled through showing drivers congestion and parking costs, turning fixed costs into variable ones like pay-as-you-drive insurance and car-sharing, restricting vehicle use through car and fleet sharing, and suggesting other travel modes based on real-time data.
