Molly Webb

Molly Webb is responsible for developing and coordinating The Climate Group's SMART 2020 Programme, which supports climate change action across the Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) sector. The programme aims to support market development of ICT-enabled climate change solutions through developing demonstration projects, and supporting finance and policy networks to scale up solutions. The initiative follows the report she co-authored SMART 2020: Enabling the low carbon economy in the information age (June 20, 2008) which highlighted the 7.8 Gt opportunity for the sector to reduce emissions through enabling energy efficiency across the economy.

Prior to joining The Climate Group, Molly held the dual role of Web Manager and Researcher at Demos, a London based think tank, where she focused on science, innovation and environmental policy. She managed an 18-month study on emerging trends in biotech, nanotech and ICT, in China, India and Korea, and wrote South Korea: Mass Innovation comes of age (2006). In 2007, Molly co-authored The Disrupters: Lessons for low-carbon innovation from the new wave of environmental pioneers a NESTA-funded report.

Molly moved to London in September 2003 for an MSc course in Environmental Policy, Planning and Regulation at the London School of Economics, where her dissertation focused on the environmental and societal implications of nanotechnology. She has 5 years of experience in website and software business development and production in New York and Japan.
