Aart van Veller

Aart van Veller studied Economics and Business at the University of Amsterdam with the notion that it is the economy that can be the driver for true positive change. In 2007, Aart got selected for Climate Change College, a college in which you get trained to learn about the causes, effects and solutions on Climate Change. The college also included a journey to the North Pole where Aart experienced a profound sense of responsibility.

According to Aart, the question is no longer if, but how and how fast we'll make the transition to a sustainable economy. From that angle he is always looking for ways to accelerate that transition in an entrepreneurial way. As a founder and partner of Cool Endeavour, Wij zijn Koel, DeGroeneBocht, CUBE Architects, Zestiq and SwitchMyLight he is proving that sustainability is the largest economic opportunity of the 21st century. This message of the future generation is also often heard at CleanDrinks events, the network drinks event for sustainable entrepreneurs and professionals.

Aart inspires with the key message that doing good and doing well are now the same. His enthusiasm and positive energy make you want to do things differently TODAY. The transition toward a sustainable economy is not just a necessity, it is the largest economic opportunity of the 21st century. By spreading these ideas he won the Communication Award in 2010. He was named Young Global Shaper by the World Economic Forum in 2011, followed by a personal invitation to participate in the annual WEF meeting in Davos early in 2012.
